Descripción:
Relaciones Bi-laterales recoge como punto de partida la noticia de una «exitosa» exportación de ganado en pie a China – nuestro mayor socio comercial – y mediante la fórmula del trueque traduce el monto de venta de una vaca holando (viva) a vacas de plástico Made in China.

El resultado es una instalación aérea representando al animal en su tamaño real pero formada por 2770 vacas de plástico a escala 1:87.

Lo industrial y lo artesanal, el aprendiz técnico vs obrero artesano, producción y consumo, materia prima vs valor agregado, las fuentes iconográficas regionales y lo autóctono, son temas que están aludidos en este sencillo trueque.

Description:
«Bilateral Relations» is a work that takes the commercial relationship between China and Uruguay as its starting point. As a livestock-based country, Uruguay exports live cattle to China and imports toys. With the value of a single live cow, we import thousands of small plastic cows to create this suspended installation.

The industrial and the artisanal, the technical apprentice vs. the artisan worker, production and consumption, raw materials vs. added value, and regional iconographic sources, are themes alluded to in this simple exchange.
